Momentum Therapeutics provides acupuncture in Coquitlam from 2 registered acupuncturists. Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese method of healing by inserting needles to open your body’s meridians. Meridians are pathways in your body that allow the flow of energy called qi. The body holds 12 main meridians at skin-level, each of which corresponds to a specific internal organ. Reaching these meridians with acupuncture needles allows us to release pain-relieving endorphins, lower blood pressure, increase the immune system, and increase the body’s natural ability to heal.
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Acupuncture is not painful. We use sterile, brand new needles that are so tiny they are only inserted a few millimeters into your skin. Many of our patients don’t even feel the needles. If we happen to strike a nerve, you may feel pain similar to that of a bee sting and will be immediately removed if you report any type of pain. The many benefits of acupuncture will make up for any discomfort experienced.
Insertion of the needles may cause a tingly sensation. Once removed, many clients claim to feel euphoric, more relaxed, and energized. Book an appointment with one of our registered acupuncturists and relax in our soothing and welcoming environment.
